Marcel Duchamp book
This was a student design project from college. It remains one of my favorites pieces so I've included it here. The full title for this book is "Marcel Duchamp : The Art of Making Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction." My idea for the design of the book came from the title. While the book functions as a biography of Duchamp's life, the primary focus of the text is Duchamp's process of creating artwork. My design follows a similar theme. The cover uses his self portrait and roto-reliefs to illustrate the intial conception of an idea for a work of art. The title page contains a sequence of images that show Duchamp in the process of creation. Subsequently, the chapter pages each display a finished piece of artwork.
